EdTech Mondays, the monthly radio program produced by the Mastercard Foundation and Shega Media & Technology Plc, is set to explore the transformative potential of digital tools tailored for the Ethiopian educational landscape.
Scheduled to air on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 8:10 p.m. EAT via Fana FM 98.1 and 10 other affiliated FM radio stations across the country, the episode promises an in-depth conversation on how technology can bridge educational gaps, empower teachers, and create a vibrant learning ecosystem.
Integrating technology into classrooms can bridge gaps in access to quality education, especially in remote areas. Customized educational software and applications can cater to the diverse learning needs and languages prevalent in Ethiopia, fostering inclusivity and engagement. Empowering teachers with digital resources enhances their teaching methods, enabling personalized learning experiences and promoting critical thinking among students.
Additionally, these tools can provide real-time feedback, track student progress, and facilitate collaborative learning, fostering a supportive educational ecosystem. Ultimately, building digital tools in Ethiopia not only enhances the quality of education but also contributes significantly to the country’s socio-economic development by nurturing a skilled and knowledgeable workforce.
Building on this narrative, discussions in the upcoming show, now in its tenth episode in 2023, will be guided by pertinent questions, exploring specific challenges faced by teachers and students in Ethiopia’s current educational system. Panelists, Misikir Adane, CEO of Muyalogy Digital Services, and Dawit Gadisa, Co-founder and COO at Muyaspace, will share insights into how digital tools can effectively address these challenges, promote inclusivity, and enhance teaching methods. Real-life experiences and success stories related to digital learning tools in Ethiopian classrooms will also be showcased, providing a glimpse into the tangible impact of technology on education.
EdTech Mondays, initiated by the Mastercard Foundation, serves as a platform for critical conversations surrounding the use of technology for teaching and learning. By bringing together key stakeholders, including policymakers, EdTech entrepreneurs, teachers, and parents, the program aims to foster discussions that lead to actionable solutions.
