Singer and songwriter Yohana has launched a new social media-based idol show called Radar Idol Show.
The show, which was launched at the end of August 2022, is the result of a partnership between Agelgil Records and Gehad Entertainment and is powered by Habesha Breweries.
Contestants take part in the Radar Idol show by simply recording videos of themselves singing and sending them to Radar’s channel on TikTok.
Videos of contestants who are accepted by Radar are shared across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and Telegram for the public to see. A three-month-long social media contest is held in the form of a tournament, highlighting many creative people from the comfort of their own homes.
Winners are also decided by the audience, who vote for their favorite contestants via telegram polls.
The show provides winners with a record deal worth 1.5 million birr, cash prizes, and the opportunity to work with the showโs creator Yohana.
Radar, which is already going through its first round of competition, hopes it will discover many talented people and bring them to the forefront.
Yohana is a young and talented reggae and dancehall singer and songwriter who has released two albums. Some of his hit songs include Mercha Alat, Yelal, featuring Tsedi, and Berta, featuring Kassmasse.
